Install in three steps
- Open the downloaded disk image and drag Koru to your Applications folder.
- Launch Koru from Applications. It appears in your menu bar — there's no dock icon to manage.
- Follow the short onboarding to pick Full mode or Hotkey-only mode, then save your first item.
Permissions, explained up front
Koru asks for the smallest set of permissions for the features you turn on — and explains each one before macOS shows a prompt.
- Accessibility lets Koru place its panel at your caret, capture selections you save, and insert text where you're writing.
- Input Monitoring is needed only if you enable typed matching. Skip it and use the global hotkey instead.
- Clipboard history is a separate opt-in inside the app, off by default.
System requirements
- macOS 13 or later
- Universal app — native on Apple Silicon & Intel
- Works offline. Koru makes no background network requests.
One safe source. Download Koru only from this page. Avoid builds shared through unofficial links or mirrors.
