Install in three steps

Unzip the download and drag Koru to your Applications folder.
Launch Koru from Applications. It appears in your menu bar — there's no dock icon to manage.
Follow the short onboarding to pick Full mode or Hotkey-only mode, then save your first item.

Alpha build. This early build is not yet notarized with Apple, so macOS asks before the first launch. Right-click Koru in Applications and choose Open; on newer macOS versions, also approve it under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway. You can verify your download against its SHA-256 checksum.

Permissions, explained up front

Koru asks for the smallest set of permissions for the features you turn on — and explains each one before macOS shows a prompt.

Accessibility lets Koru place its panel at your caret, capture selections you save, and insert text where you're writing.
Input Monitoring is needed only if you enable typed matching. Skip it and use the global hotkey instead.
Clipboard history is a separate opt-in inside the app, off by default.
